Title

Can I make Wudhu over wart medication?

Question

Asalamalaikum,

I have a wart on my hand. I bought an over the counter wart remover that freezes the wart which eventually causes it to fall off. My question is, would my wudu be valid after I use it as water won’t be able to reach the frozen area.?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle, if such medication is applied to the skin growth which prevents water from reaching the skin and removing the medication would interfere with the healing process or worsen it, then pouring water over the medicated area will suffice.[1]

Accordingly, it will be permissible to perform Wudhu over the frozen wart. The Wudhu will be valid.
