Whatsapp group scheme - Is this permissible?


There’s a what’s app group of 11 people

5 of those people (1,2,3,4,5) are people who came from another group and are OLD people, the person who is 1st is the one getting paid, so now for example just say I’m number 3 in the group, now I’ve already paid 200 rand to enter the group, now I’ll try and recruit you for instance, so now you’ll pay Eft to number one in the group to enter and then you’ll join the what’s app group and will be under the last 6 of the 11 of the group

And then the group splits after number 1 is paid 1200 in full

All odd numbers (3,5,7,9,11) go into another group

All even numbers (2,4,6,8,10) go into another group

So, then the first person in each of those groups will be then be paid by recruiting another 6 people

Basically, each member pays R200 as an entrance fee with the chance of earning R1200 should he be 1st in the group. Each member is also tasked to make others sign up for the same. Each time you convince someone to sign up, your own number moves up, making you closer to 1st and earn the R1200.

The scheme described contains many impermissible elements such as deception (gharar), gambling, ambiguity and conditional sales.[1] Accordingly, it is impermissible to take part and enter into such schemes.

فقه البيوع (2/ 812)

إن كان بيع المنتج مشروطا بأن يدخل المشترى في شبكة التسويق، فهذا البيع فاسد، لاشتراط ما لا بقتضيه العقد.a
