Does masturbation break ones fast?

Does masturbation break ones fast?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Masturbation is a major sin and an evil act. There are severe warnings for a person who masturbates. One must abstain at all costs as it incurs the wrath and anger of Allah Ta’ala.

Masturbation with ejaculation will invalidate the fast and one will have to make up one Qadha fast.[i]

The purpose of fasting is to exercise restraint from one’s carnal desires. Masturbation defeats that very issue. One should turn to Allah Ta’ala and seek forgiveness.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
