Title

Imagining Allah and the Ka’bah under Baytul Ma’mūr

Question

 1.  Whenever  I think word Allah imagine it as a wallpaper sometimes in Sky, water, wall or non-living things e.t.c is this intention correct or not.

Note: my intention was not too believe they are greater than Allah it's just to focus on word Allah

2. If Kaaba is underneath the Bayt ul Mamur then according to the global Earth model. Is it not possible for the Kaaba to be underneath Bayt ul Mamur since the Earth is spinning and the location changes unless you believe the Earth is Flat then it would work since it is stationary and the location won't change

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

1.     Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam advised us to ponder upon the greatness of Allah by pondering upon the creation of Allah. See the following hadith:

Translation: Contemplate over the signs of Allah and do not contemplate regarding Allah the Mighty, the Sublime (Shu’ab Al-Imān-119)[i]

Do not ponder upon the Being of Allah as we are unable to comprehend the actual Being of Allah. Accordingly, it is incorrect to ponder on Allah as a wallpaper in the sky, water, etc.

Look at the power of Allah in creation of the marvellous sky, earth, sun, moon, and the galaxy of stars. Look at the power and greatness of Allah within yourself, your eyes, mouth, sense of touch, smell, and hearing. Look at the different blood vessels and how uniquely our body functions. That is more than enough to recognise Allah and His power.

2.     You enquire an explanation regarding the Ka’bah being underneath the Baytul Ma’mūr and how it is possible due to the fact that the earth is spinning thereby making the location of the Ka’bah change constantly.

According to the hadith, we understand that the Ka’bah is under the Baytul Ma’mūr. See the following hadith:

The messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alahi Wasallam) once said to his Companions: “Do you know what about the Baiytul Ma’mūr?” They replied: “Allah and his messenger knows best.” The prophet (Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam) said: “It is a Masjid in the heavens, below it is the Ka’bah, if it were to fall, it would fall upon it (Ka’bah). 70,000 angels perform prayers daily and when they leave, they never return to it (but always a fresh batch comes into it daily.)[ii]

The spinning of the earth does not alter the fact that the Ka’bah is under the Baytul Ma’mūr. The Baytul Ma’mūr is above and the Ka’bah is below on earth. Hence, the Ka’bah is always under the Baytul Ma’mūr.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best.
