Question

Asalam Ulkum,

My home town where my parents and family is Abbottabad. Every week I have to travel to Islamabad  for job about 140 Km away from Abbottabad. I have studied here in Islamabad and stayed over 15 days many times  but now from last 8 years after my marriage every weekend I have to travel to Abbottabad. Every week my internsion is only for 5 days in Islamabad i.e Monday morning to Friday evening. I dont have any intesnions to move permentaly to Islamabad but have the intensions to carry on this job.

Whould I offer Full Namaz or Qasar in Islamabad???

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle, if you intend to travel for 78 kilometres[1] or more and do not have intention of staying at your destination for more than fifteen days[2], you will be considered a musaafir. Accordingly, you will read Qasr Salaah in Karachi as long as you don’t intend staying there for fifteen days or more.
