Am I sinful for not reading salah in Jamat due to a busy schedule?

Assalam alaykum. I pray that you are in good health. My question is that is is it true that the men who do not pray at mosque in congregation due to there busy schedule ,but pray there respective salah individually on time are sinners and there salah is invalid because they are not praying salah in congregation?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Shari’ah has emphasized on performing Ṣalāḥ with congregation. See the following Aḥādīth of Nabī ﷺ:

"صلاة الجماعة تفضل صلاة الفذ بسبع وعشرين درجة." (صحيح البخاري)

"alā in congregation is better than the alā of a man by himself by twenty-seven degrees." (Bukhārī)

"والذي نفسي بيده لقد هممت أن آمر بحطب، فيحطب، ثم آمر بالصلاة، فيؤذن لها، ثم آمر رجلا فيؤم الناس، ثم أخالف إلى رجال، فأحرق عليهم بيوتهم ...الخ" (صحيح البخاري)

"By Him in Whose Hand my life is, I sometimes thought of giving orders for firewood to be collected, then for proclaiming the Adhan for alā. Then I would appoint an Imam to lead alā, and then go to the houses of those who do not come to perform alā in the congregation, and set fire to their houses on them." (Bukhārī)

It is compulsory for men to perform Ṣalaḥ in congregation. [1] One should try his best to perform ṣalāḥ with congregation in the Masjid by adjusting his work schedule around the ṣalāḥ timings. If that is not possible, one should perform ṣalāḥ with jamā’ah in a Muṣallah, and if that is not possible, one should make jamā’ah at home with the family. If all the above are not possible and one performs ṣalāḥ individually, the ṣalāḥ will be valid. However, if he does not perform ṣalāḥ with congregation without a valid reason, he will be sinful, and he will deprive himself of the manifold rewards of performing ṣalāḥ in congregation.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
