Title: Will the previous year’s ghusl be valid?

Question

 

                                             Ghusl
In my earlier years I was use  to take bath without fulfilling the three fard of ghusl. I mean I use to take only shower and not rinsing my mouth and nose which are the part of fard of ghusl  ,but alhamdulillah now I take proper ghusl. So my question is was my Salah valid  in those early years because I was in condition where I took incomplete ghusl ie by only showering my body and not doing other 2fard due to my less knowledge? Please reply .Your reply will be highly appreciated.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle, there are three requisites for an obligatory ghusl to be valid. [1]

1)    To rinse one’s mouth

2)    To pass water in the nostrils.

3)    To pour water over the entire body once.

You state in your earlier years you would not fulfil the requisites of ghusl. What do you mean by earlier years? If by earlier years, you mean before becoming mature (Baaligh), then an obligatory ghusl was not compulsory on you. Hence, your Salaah was valid.

If you were in the need of an obligatory ghusl and you did not fulfil the requisites of an obligatory ghusl, but you made wudhu before performing the Salaah, that would suffice and your Salaah would be valid.
