Title: Can I pray qasr if I intend staying at destination for a month?

Question

Salam aleykum. I am on holidays, so I traveled to another state and I'm planning on staying for a month. Can I still do the qasr prayers till I get back home? Jazakumullahul khair

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

If a person intends to stay 15 nights or more at one place, he is a Muqeem. [i] He will have to perform full salaah. He cannot make qasr salaah at that place.

Accordingly, if you travelled to another state and stayed in one place for 15 days or more, you will have to perform full salaah.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
