Title: Receiving gifts from riba based banks

What Islam says about Scholarships and Prizes without prepaid money?

I am a university student. I have the following queries. Please answer them.

1.       In different cultural festivals at the university, many banks and company provide free gifts such as pens, pads, sunglasses etc to students. They request us to take the lottery and whatever gift comes in your luck they provide us for free. We do not pay any money for lottery. However, I know the banks are Riba based. If they offer gifts for free, are we allowed to take them?

Jazakallahu khoirun

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The scholarship offered by a non-muslim university will be regarded as a gift and permissible. [1]
