Title: Will i have to give zakat on the Hajj money as well?

I will be going for hajj this year inshallah, i have booked my package for £5000 but the group leader only wants the deposit now and will take the rest in due time.

my zakat is also due in ramadhan, so will i have to give zakat on the hajj money aswell?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

You will not have to give zakat on the hajj money as that amount is a debt.[i]
