Assalamu alaykum,

We want to know if these names are islamically correct and also the correct way to spell in english as our arabic is not the best.

These are the names.

Nur Addunya or Noor Addunya

Nur AlJannah or Noor Aljannah

Nur AlHayat or Noor Alhayat

Jazak Allah Kheir in advance

Answer

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

The meanings of the names are as follows:

1.      Noor Ad-Dunyaa- The light of Dunyaa

2.      Noor Al-Jannah- The light of Jannah

3.      Noor Al-Hayaah- The light of life

The above names possess good meanings. Thus, it will be suitable to name one’s children with the above names. We make duaa that Allaah Ta’aala make your children true lights of both worlds. Aameen. The spellings mentioned in the query and in the answer are all correct and may be used.

And Allaah Ta’aala Knows Best.
