Title

Removing Haram Portion of Sandwich

Question

Title - Bread with Bacon

Question: Salamalekum I ordered Grilled Cheese sandwich at a local restaurant, I didn\'t realize that they used Meat in it. However after realizing that there was bacon in the sandwich, I took out all of the meat & ate only the bread with cheese, Onions & tomatoes in it. I did not eat the meat, but I was wondering just because there was Bacon in the bread, though I took it out, was it still right for me to consume the same bread in which their was Bacon.. ?

Kindly please answer Masalama

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In principle, it is not correct to eat a sandwich that contained bacon even if one removes the bacon. The remainder of the sandwich is still contaminated with oil and other haram particles from the bacon.

{يَاأَيُّهَا النَّاسُ كُلُوا مِمَّا فِي الْأَرْضِ حَلَالًا طَيِّبًا وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا خُطُوَاتِ الشَّيْطَانِ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُبِينٌ (168)}
