Title: Wudhu wearing only underwear

Question

I want to know about wazu. I live alone and I want to know if I can do my wazu in only wearing my underwear. The reason being is because I don't want to make my new clothes wet while doing wazu.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

It is not appropriate to expose ones Satr unnecessarily.[i] Consider the following Hadith:

Translation: Iman has sixty odd branches. Hayaa is a branch of Iman."

However, your Wudhu will be valid.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
