Title: Uncertainty in cleanliness

Question

AsalamuAlaykum, I apologize for the repeat question. it seems my first attempt had some very strange formatting issues.

After making istinja, I began to wash my hands and then I started to fix my clothes. I then noticed that I felt some wetness and I checked myself and found that a very small amount of urine or prostatic fluid (it seemed to be the latter, but I am not sure) was seeping out from my genital area. It was not too latge, but I cleaned it with a wet paper towel and put my clothes back. however, I started to think that maybe if I had not emptied my bladder properly before I made istinja, then the water that I used to clean my testes and anal area would have been impure and therefore I had spread filth on my body, but I am not sure fully. Am I giving into doubts or should I take a shower and clean my whole body thoroughly?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The issue is simple. You are definitely giving in to doubts. [1] The wetness was due to the istinja.

In future, after istinja, sprinkle more water around your private parts and on the undergarments and attribute any wetness to that. [2]

اليقين لا يزول بالشك

 

شرح مختصر الطحاوي للجصاص جلد١ ص٤٠٣

قال أبو جعفر: (ومن أيقن بالطهارة: فلا يزول عنها بشك في حدث، ومن أيقن بحدث: فلا يزول عنه بشك في طهارة). وذلك لما روى سهيل بن أبي صالح عن أبيه عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: "إذ كان أحدكم في الصلاة، فوجد حركة في دبر: أحدث أو لم يحدث؟ فأشكل عليه، فلا ينصرف حتى يسمع صوتًا، أو يجد ريحًا… فصار ذلك أصلًا في أن الطهارة إذا كانت يقينًا في الأصل: لم يرتفع حكما بالشك، وكذلك الحدث إذا كان يقينًا: لم يزل بالشك.

قَالَ (وَمَنْ سَالَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ مَوْضِعٍ شَيْءٌ لَا يَدْرِي مَا هُوَ فَغُسْلُهُ أَحْسَنُ)؛ لِأَنَّ غُسْلَهُ لَا يَرِيبُهُ، وَتَرْكُهُ يَرِيبُهُ.

وَقَالَ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - «دَعْ مَا يَرِيبُكَ إلَى مَا لَا يَرِيبُكَ» فَإِنْ تَرَكَهُ جَازَ؛ لِأَنَّهُ عَلَى يَقِينٍ مِنْ الطَّهَارَةِ فِي ثَوْبِهِ، وَفِي شَكٍّ مِنْ حَقِيقَةِ النَّجَاسَةِ فَإِنْ كَانَ فِي أَكْبَرِ رَأْيِهِ أَنَّهُ نَجِسٌ غَسَلَهُ؛ لِأَنَّ أَكْبَرَ الرَّأْي فِيمَا لَا تُعْلَمُ حَقِيقَتَهُ كَالْيَقِينِ قَالَ - صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ - «الْمُؤْمِنُ يَنْظُرُ بِنُورِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى»
