Title: Praying having not heard the Adhaan.

I would like to ask a few questions,

1. After shuruq can you still pray fajir? I mean will it be on time or will it be qatha'?

2. If you hold your husband's hand does it break your wudu'?

3. If it is now time for asr or any prayer, and we didn't hear the call to prayer at the mosque, because we are in North America and they don't broadcast the call to prayer but the program on our computer/phone or the prayer time table we got from the mosque says it's now time for asr, can you still pray thuhr? Can you pray asr or do you have to make sure that they made the call to prayer at the mosque?

Thank you

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

  1. The time for Fajar commences when the whitish glow spreading from East to West is observed and remains until the rising of the sun. [i]

Once the sun rises, Fajar Salah will become Qadha.[ii]

  1. Holding your husbands hand will not break either of your Wudhu.[iii]

  1. 3.    Salaah becomes obligatory on a person as soon as the time starts.[iv] This is regardless of whether one hears the Adhaan or not.[v] As soon as the time for that particular Salah terminates and one has still not prayed, then that Salah will be considered a Qadha Salah.

You may ask your local Masjid for a Salah timetable and pray according to the times mentioned therein.
