Title: Is Tawaaf-e-Qudoom Sunnah or Wajib? Who can perform Tawaf-e-Qudoom?

Question

Asalaam u alikum,

please can you tell me if Tawaf e Qadom is sunnat or wajid? and in which type of hajj should one preform tawaf e Qadom.

JazakAllah, Request for duas/].

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Tawaf-e-Qudoom is Sunnah upon the non-residents of Makkah who come from abroad if they are performing Ifraad or Qiran Hajj. It is not Sunnah upon a person performing Tamattu. Furthermore, people residing in Makkah and performing Hajj will not perform Tawaaf-e-Qudoom.[1]
