Is it okay to have pieces of dead hair (already fallen) on you while praying?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

If a person has pieces of fallen hair on him, Salah is valid. [1]

وَعَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي نَجَاسَةِ شَعْرِ الْآدَمِيِّ وَظُفْرِهِ وَعَظْمِهِ رِوَايَتَانِ فَبِنَجَاسَتِهِ أَخَذَ الْمَاتُرِيدِيُّ وَبِطَهَارَتِهِ أَخَذَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ الصَّفَّارُ وَاعْتَمَدَهَا الْكَرْخِيُّ وَهُوَ الصَّحِيحُ (الجوهرة النيرة على مختصر القدوري، ج1ص16، المطبعة الخيرية)

 (وشعر الإنسان وعظمه طاهر) ش: كان يقتضي التركيب أن يقال: طاهران، ولكن التقدير وشعر الإنسان طاهر وعظمه طاهر. وعن محمد في نجاسة شعر الآدمي روايتان بنجاسته أخذ إمام الهدى أبو منصور الماتريدي وبطهارته أخذ الفقيه أبو جعفر والصفار واعتمدها الكرخي في كتابه وهو الصحيح (البناية شرح الهداية، ج1ص429، دار الكتب العلمية)

وَكَذَا شَعْرُ الْإِنْسَانِ وَعَظْمُهُ طَاهِرَانِ عِنْدَنَا وَلَكِنْ لَا يَجُوزُ الِانْتِفَاعُ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْهُمَا لِكَرَامَةِ الْإِنْسَانِ (البحر الرائق شرح كنز الدقائق ومنحة الخالق وتكملة الطوري، ج1ص106، دار الكتاب الإسلامي)
