Reciting Alhamdulillaah with a small haa (ه)

Assalamu aleikum When making dhikr by saying "Alhamdollilah" 100 times for example, it is difficult for me to say "AlHamdollilah" with the proper pronunciation of Ha (ح). I can do it, but it takes longer time and makes me focus on the pronunciation rather than the dhikr. Is it permissable for me to make a pronunciation which is close to ha (ه) instead?

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salaamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullaahi wa-barakaatuh.

It is pleasing to note that you take out time and engage in dhikr. Indeed it is in the remembrance of Allaah Ta’aala that the hearts find contentment.

The word همد with a small haa (ه) means death and destruction while the word حمد with a big haa (ح) means praise[1]. When we make dhikr of Allaah Ta’aala, alongside with reflecting and pondering over the grandeur of Allaah Ta’aala, we should ensure that we are correctly pronouncing the words as slight change in the letters can drastically change the meaning. We advise you to focus on the correct pronunciation by putting a bit of emphasis on the haa (ح).

And Allaah Ta’aala Knows Best.
