Title: Is crab halal?

Question

I would like to know that is crab halal or haram?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

According to Hanafi Madhab, all water borne creatures besides fish are impermissible to consume. This includes creatures like crab, tortoise and frog. [1]
