Question

Property of my late dad was sold. It’s being repaid monthly interest free over five years. For zakah should we include the full balance remaining at zakah year end?

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

We understand from your question that the property was sold before distribution of the estate. Based on this understanding, zakah will not be wajib until the inheritors collect their shares. After collecting their share it will be joint with other zakatable wealth and paid at zakah year end.
