Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Amongst the names of the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) was ‘Habibullah’. He referred to himself by this name. (Jaami’ Al-Tirmidhi, vol 2, pg 202, HM Sa’eed / Al-Jaami’ Li Shu’bi al-Imaan, vol 3, pg 81, Al-Rushd)

He was referred to this name as well by:

  • Allah Ta’ala, as mention in Al-Jaami’ Li al-Hadith al-Qudsi (pg 866, Al-Islaami)
  • Jibraeel (alayhis salaam)  (Al-Mu’jam al-Kabeer, vol 5, pg 30, Al-Ilm wal al-Hikam)
  • Hassaan Bin Thabit (radiyallaahu anhu)  (Sharh Ma’aani Al-Aathaar, vol 12, pg 79, Ilmiyya)

And Allah knows best

Wassalam
